Finding a home with a lot of property in a central location isn’t easy, but this picturesque Franklin estate at 2060 Hillsboro Road has it all including a unique history.

The over 7,000 square foot home with four bedrooms in its main house was highlighted in the Tennessean for a beautiful history, unique architecture, and the property surrounding it.

The granddaughters of the William DePriest, a noted area preservationist, shared some of their favorite features about the property in this video and say the home is ready for a new generation of memories.

Picturesque Franklin Estate History

After burning, the home was rebuilt around 2008 with DePriest selecting each piece of this home thoughtfully.

Exterior doors along with some interior doors were procured by him from the United Kingdom and were once part of castles in Scotland.

Calling this home an English Tudor goes deeper than just the architecture – the stones used on the turret are originally from the walls of a church in England and they were placed onto this home, but not before being used as the cobblestones on Broadway in downtown Nashville.

“He brought a little bit of England to Franklin,” said Leah Elmquist, the granddaughter of DePriest.

Unique Property – In Town Farm

With a perfect view of Tennessee’s rolling hills, this gorgeous home is surrounded by 46.1 acres that stretch all the way to Harpeth River.

“There are no properties like this, backing up to a river, a central location to Franklin, Brentwood, and Green Hills,” Eric Elmquist, owner of Covalent Properties, said. He expects a single-family buyer to purchase this home for an in-town farm.

Along with the gorgeous main house and property, this home site includes a guest house, a barn, a guest apartment over the garage, and plenty of picturesque gardens.
