Fresh, Original Style Describes Designer Cara Brock

From vision to reality, interior designer Cara Brock earns her reputation for creative, fresh, original design including her work for builder Trace Construction, a LCT Team – Parks client.

Original Style

One of the hallmarks of Cara’s design is you can’t walk in a home and necessarily know it is her work.

“I’m well known for not having a look because I think a home should reflect the homeowners’ lives. I’m also not a trendy designer and am comfortable designing styles from contemporary to ultra-traditional. I’m not afraid of color or embracing a neutral color palette. My design is driven by the lifestyle of the client,” Cara said.

“Cara is incredibly talented and her designs match the home perfectly. I would call her aesthetic very flexible. You can look at two houses side-by-side and not guess it is Cara which is a huge compliment,” Lisa said.

Lisa has the opportunity to work with Cara on Trace Construction homes including the spec home being completed in Cartwright Close.

“I love working with Lisa because we are a lot alike. She gets straight to the point and gets it done,” Cara said.

Fabulous Trace Construction Homes

If you saw the 2019 Parade of Homes at The Grove, you saw Cara’s award-winning collaboration with Trace Construction. She has worked on owner Lindsay Butler’s personal home and several others the LCT Team – Parks had the pleasure of selling recently!

“It is a very collaborative process working with Trace and we have these roundtable meetings which include Lindsay, Brad, the job superintendent, landscape architect and pool designer,” Cara explained. t

This stunning Trace Construction home, sold by Lisa Culp Taylor in Cartwright Close, is a great example of the Trace outdoor living experience!

Cara’s work from vision, to paper, to building reality also includes working with the future homeowners in many cases.

“I enjoy being part of the entire process. I also have many repeat clients, and, as families grow and change, it is exciting helping them design for these changes from nurseries to preparing spaces for a home wedding,” Cara said.

One of her favorite home elements she’s collaborated on recently was creating some custom molding profiles with Cox Interiors and new custom colors for engineered flooring with Textures Flooring.

Childhood Dream Becomes A Life-Long Passion

A Chicago native, Cara knew from childhood she wanted to be an interior designer. Her Chicago prep high school actually offered interior design courses. Ultimately, she was drawn to Western Kentucky University because she was looking for a nationally accredited interior design program.

She’s now lived and practiced in the Nashville area for over 20 years and married a Franklin native and has two sons, one at Brentwood Middle and the other at Brentwood High.

Specializing in new home construction and remodeling, Cara works with homeowners many times as a liaison between home builder and homeowner. Her work takes her from Kentucky and Tennessee down to 30A and Naples, Florida.
