Confession time: I name the houses that you wonderful people hire me to sell for you. Castle on the Hill? Check. Scarlett O’Hara’s house? Yes. Timber Lodge? All homes I’ve marketed for sale. Naming these homes and giving them backstories helps me to understand them. It helps me to create a narrative and so often, those narratives help buyers engage with a home. Those stories and names help them create a connection so that they can imagine themselves living there and extending the stories that each home tells. Please don’t call the men with the white coats just yet. I do know that this is a funny little quirk, but it works for me and it helps me work for you.
Today’s spotlight home… I lovingly call it the “Gingerbread Cottage.” At almost 4,500 square feet, calling this new construction in Hillsboro Cove a cottage is a bit of a stretch, but they’re my stories and I’ll name them if I want to. I do acknowledge that it’s a tad on the big side to fit in the cottage category, but you guys! When you see this home, you’ll understand. It’s gorgeous and impressive and also very, very adorable. I swoon at the peaked roof, the peek-a-boo dormers, the way the wood and brick work so well together to give this luxury home a touch of warmth and comfort. It’s darling from start to finish. So, without further ado, I give you the “Gingerbread Cottage,”also known as 1026 Buena Vista Drive.
As you enter the foyer, you’ll find a sunny study just to your left. Vaulted ceilings and two walls of windows help the space feel open and airy. As you walk down the hall, you’ll pass the switchback staircase that leads to the second story, a powder room and a wet bar. And then, you’ll be drawn to the spacious family room with vaulted ceilings accented with wood beams and a gas log fireplace. This room, of course, opens to the gourmet kitchen, outfitted with custom cabinetry and state of the art appliances and the lovely dining room that overlooks the back of the home. Oh, and a pair of double doors in the family room and dining room opens to the covered porch that leads to a backyard terrace and grilling area. Opposite the kitchen, a main level master suite with a spa like bathroom and huge walk-in closet spans the length of almost the entire house. I’m talking top notch finishes and custom upgrades. I’d cancel my standing appointment with the masseuse if I had a master bathroom like this one.
No matter what we call it, this much is true: the home is simply beautiful and is located in one of Franklin’s newest luxury communities. Hillsboro Cove is known for its bucolic peacefulness, but many don’t realize that it’s also centrally located. Just because you’re surrounded by perfect pastoral beauty doesn’t mean you aren’t also 15 minutes from downtown Franklin, 15 minutes from Cool Springs and 15 minutes from the 1-65 corridor. It’s truly the best of ALL worlds and I’d love to show it to you. And then, if you insist that the “Gingerbread Cottage” isn’t enough for this wonderful property, I’ll let you help me tell a new story.
