I gasped audibly when my newsfeed told me that my virtual BFF’s Chip and Jo announced their last season of Fixer Upper. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with all of the home renovation shows and I’ve written about that a time or two, but Fixer Upper (and especially Joanna’s design prowess) is a show that really did have a tremendous impact on buyers and what they want in their newly purchased homes. So, deep sigh. We’ll have to learn to muddle along without them. Lucky for you, I know of a home that is FOR SALE right now and could have been designed by the Fixer Upper team. No, there are no barn doors (so over!), but there is a fantastic open floor plan, a soft gray and white palette and a simply stunning chef’s kitchen with a granite topped island as big as my bed!
Continuing the tour indoors, you’ll find a railroad-style entryway that leads to the kitchen, breakfast room and great room with doorways leading to the master suite (swoon!) on one side and a main level secondary bedroom on the other. The entire downstairs is outfitted with richly stained hardwood floors that enhance the feeling of openness and connectedness. Passing the switchback staircase and a set of built-in bookshelves, you enter the expansive kitchen and WOW! It’s centered by an enormous granite topped island and furnished with brilliant white cabinetry (some with beaded-glass doors), a furniture style range hood and gleaming restaurant grade appliances. Please don’t even get me started on the light gray diamond tiled backsplash. I could write an entire blog post on that alone… suffice it to say that every single inch of this home has been planned to perfection with beautiful, high-end finishes. An atrium-like breakfast room boasts a coffered ceiling and access to the home’s backyard, outdoor living space and detached garage. The great room that extends naturally from the kitchen features a gas log fireplace and recessed lights and speakers.
The home includes five pristine bedrooms, two on the main level and two upstairs. The main level master is incredible with oversized crown molding and baseboards, windows with decorative transoms and
Last, but not least, the home also includes a backyard covered porch with a breezeway that leads to the two-story, two-car garage with boundless storage. And, because this property is part of the Everbright Community, you’ll have shared access to the community garden and the thriving, growing neighborhood that promises to only get better! Give me a minute (or a day) and I’ll happily show you the joys of life in the very heart of one of America’s favorite historic towns!
