Mother’s Day is a great time to reflect on the inspiring advice passed down through generations, and, this year, the LCT Team shares some of their mother’s best advice.
Mother’s Day Best Advice from LCT Team
The LCT Team – Parks Realty team is made up of a group of smart, diverse and driven group of women who know their moms played an important role in their work ethic. Led by long-time Williamson County based Realtor, Lisa Culp Taylor, she says her mom is a pistol who has shared a lot of great advice over the years.
One day she shared with LCT Team member Holly Hockaday, “boss lady’s gotta boss!”
“I’m very blessed by both my parents but one of the best pieces of advice from my mom is this: ‘If you are willing to work hard and apply yourself, there is nothing you can’t do,” shared Lisa.
LCT Team member Michelle Arnold says her mother is not only her best friend but a role model as well.
“The best piece of advice my mom has given me is whatever you do, do it well and try your hardest; Don’t give up and stay strong; And live life to the fullest, even in hard times,” Michelle said. “I try to live by this advice every day.”
“Whatever you do, do it well and try your hardest; Don’t give up and stay strong; And live life to the fullest, even in hard times,” says Patricia Gadson, mother of Michelle Arnold, LCT Team.
LCT Team member Karen Broomhead’s mom shared with her very simple and strong advice she says.“The less you care about what other people think, the happier you’ll be.”
New LCT Team member Shannon Taylor shares some practical advice from her mom, Rita, as well as a good challenge for the busy world of real estate.
My mom tell me, “always make sure you have clean underwear on before you leave your house. You never know when you will be in an accident. She also taught me, never say I can’t. And, if I don’t understand something, then ask for help. But, never say, I can’t.”
LCT Team member Holly Hockaday’s mom, Krista, gave important advice to her daughter.
“Believe in yourself, trust God, love unconditionally, be courageous, forgive often, live everyday to the fullest and kill them with kindness,” Krista Hockaday’s advice to her Realtor daughter Holly.
LCT Team member Marabeth Poole’s mom challenged her daughter with lots of good advice.
“My mom is one of my closest friends, and, with a large family, we were inspired by her great advice daily,” Marabeth shared.
“I’ve always taught my children tobelieve in themselves and that they… Can Do It! By doing, they build self-confidence, self-reliance, resiliency, courage, a work ethic and joy in the journey. On the spiritual side, at the core of doing is unconditional love for yourself. When you know your significance in the universe you can truly love and serve others,” said Marriann Hough.
Associate with people that compliment your life, not complicate it says Janie Dunnivant, LCT Team member Megan Jones mother. Her advice and guidance has always been important to her Megan shares.
One of the most creative members of the LCT Team is Tiffany Vandermark whose mother, Gwen Vandermark, always stressed being an individual. Tiffany shares this should be no surprise!
“The best advice she always gave me while growing up was never let anyone tell you who you’re supposed to be. You are an individual and that’s something to be proud of!” said Tiffany.
The Bible provides the best piece of advice LCT Team member Kristin Kash’s mom, Kathy “Toot” Perreault, shared with her from Deuteronomy 31:8.The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Finally, LCT Team member Vickie Freas’ mother, Carol Rash, shared practical advice for her daughter.
“My mom told me before I married, if you cook him a good meal every night, he’ll be home to eat it,” Vickie says.
Obviously dinner tonight is at Vickie’s! And, we hope you all take a moment to reflect and enjoy Mother’s Day 2018.
