I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook. I love to see sweet pics of my family, friends and their fur-babies, but I heartily dislike all the political stuff that seems to take over my newsfeed. Recently, though, I had half a second of free time, so I was browsing Facebook and noticed this new Thanksgiving trend of posting selfies with captions of what you’re thankful for. Now this is something I can get behind. Cute pics and messages of gratitude? I thought about participating, but then I remembered that I’m actually a horrible Facebooker with very little Facebooking time, so I abandoned the notion. But I kept thinking about it and thinking about it and then had one of those brilliant ideas that (always – why?) strikes at 2:44 a.m. or some ridiculous hour when my brain should be powered down. My brain, though, had other ideas and so the idea of my “housebook” messages of gratitude was born.
