Fifth Generation Builds On Tradition
Jason Phillips, grandson of the original Phillips building patriarch, Randall, re-launched Phillips Builders in July of 2020 and is joined by his nephew, Taylor Phillips, vice president of construction, and daughter, Laine Phillips, vice president of operations.
“I’m excited to begin a new decade of Phillips Builders with Taylor and Laine. Our goal is to build quality homes in a great locations while meeting a market demand in our own special way,” Jason said.
How will Phillips meet this market demand not being served? “We feel like we stand out in this market because we are offering homes with nicer standard features and fresh floor plans while giving clients more for their money.” says Jason.
“Tollgate Village will be a great example of this.People will love our floor plans. We’ve collaborated with licensed architects on smart design and our standard features are considered upgrades by our competitors including lighting, countertops, and cabinetry,” Jason said.

We put ourselves into the customers’ shoes as we are designing and building a home, says Jason, and this is one way in which Phillips Builders is unique.
“With our generational knowledge of building in Nashville, we know what to do and what not to do as well as the importance of serving the customer,”Jason said.
He also says working for Phillips Builders is different. “Our trades are building partners and we value their opinion from laying tile to framing the home. On each build, we are continuing to learn how to do it better and more efficiently. Our customers benefit from this every time.”
These good working relationships, Jason says, also help the Phillips team build on time, within budget, and produce a quality built home.
More Middle TN Homes In The Future
In the first quarter of 2021, Phillips will have eight to ten homes under construction in Tollgate Village. The company will also be building a new home model in Spring Hill’s Harvest Point. Phillips will also be breaking ground on a new community in the Hendersonville area in February 2021.
“Ultimately, I want to establish this new chapter of Phillips Builders so the fifth generation can continue the tradition. I know they feel a sense of pride and obligation to continue exceptional home building. It’s different when your family name is on it and they have 70 years worth of home building legacy to build upon.”Jason said.
